Can professors see your past grades?

Can professors see your past grades?

But individual faculty cannot see grades except for classes they are teaching, and it’s considered unethical to (say) determine what grades your student got in other classes.

How long do professors keep grades?

The graded exam papers (with the lecturer’s signature) will be stored in the secretariat for one year after announcing the result as the law gives every student the right to dispute a grade within that time frame. Theoretically we could dispose of them after that time.

Can professors change grades after graduation?

Yes, a professor can change a grade given to a student. For example, if corrections warrant changing the grade up or down, the faculty may change the grade.

What do professors do with old exams?

Professors do not keep old papers. Instead, they submit them to the respective faculties for safe keeping where they are stored for a certain period before they discard them. Depending on different disciplines, some professors return such papers with comments to allow the students to have a broader picture.

How can I report a professor?

Contact the Office of Student Affairs, or your university’s equivalent, and ask them how they prefer to receive the complaint. If you aren’t sure where to turn, contact your academic adviser or the department head.

Do professors remember their students?

Just like other human beings, academics will tend to remember students who they have had regular one-on-one contact with over a sustained period of time. They are unlikely to remember students who they have met only in group settings (e.g., in lectures, etc.) or only on sporadic occasions.

Do colleges save papers?

A university will keep your papers for a set duration as per its policy. For instance, if they are assignment or examination papers, the institution may keep them for a certain period to give a window for solving a grade dispute. Once that window expires, the university can now destroy them confidentially.
