Soul is life energy and, as long as , soul is present in our Body System , consciousness continues to flow through our Body system and we are alive . Each one of us have individual soul , human beings , animals , trees – all living beings . Non-living things do not have soul .

Is Stone a living thing or nonliving thing?

So, yes, animals are a part of the same life-death-rebirth cycle that humans are in, but at some point they cease to be animals and their souls enter human bodies so they can be closer to God.

Why is water a nonliving thing?

Living things need food to grow, they move, respire, reproduce, excrete wastes from the body, respond to stimuli in the environment and have a definite life span. Water, sun, moon and stars do not show any of the above characteristics of living things. Hence, they are non-living things.
