What if gravity turned off for 1 second?

What if gravity turned off for 1 second?

When gravity disappears for 1 second the outwards force balanced by the gravity would be released causing a massive explosion. In other star systems with more immense stars and natural phenomena such as pulsars and and especially black holes the explosions and expansions would be greater.

What will happen if we lost gravity for 5 seconds?

If our planet were to lose gravity for even five seconds, it would spell the end of life on Earth as we know it. Gravity pulls objects toward one another. Without gravity, humans and other objects would become weightless.

What would happen if Earth had less gravity?

If the Earth’s gravity did just suddenly disappear we would no longer have a force keeping us on the ground. The Earth would keep spinning, as it does, but we would no longer move with it; instead we would move in a straight line, upwards.

What variables affect gravity?

Gravity is affected by the size of an object and the distance between the objects. When the mass of an object increases the force of gravity increases as well.

What would happen if we suddenly lost gravity on Earth?

While scientists cannot really predict what would happen if we suddenly lost gravity on Earth, they can tell us the short term effect that lack of gravity (or weightlessness) has on our bodies… by observing what happens to astronauts while in space. Initially astronauts lose their sense of orientation, they find it hard to tell up from down.

What would happen if you fell off the Earth?

As Cathal and Ciarán said, you would no longer have a force keeping you on the ground . The Earth would keep spinning, as it does, but you would no longer move with it, you would move in a straight line, upwards. In fact, rather than feeling like you are floating away from the Earth, you would probably feel like the Earth is dropping away from you!

What would happen to the earth’s surface if all liquids disappeared?

Liquids would leave the Earth’s surface too, so all the water on our planet, in lakes, rivers and seas would start to float off.
