Can I use 15V adapter for 12V?

Can I use 15V adapter for 12V?

the 15v (i guess its dc) will power a 12v ozone device. I read that things need to have the same polarity, same v, but varies MA is fine. The voltage should match and as long as the power supply has at least the amperage required by the device you should be fine.

Can I use 1.5 amp adapter for A 2 amp device?

If the circuit requires current between 1.5A to 2A, still you need to connect it to 12V, 2A adapter. If the circuit requires 1.5A or less than that, then you can connect it to any of those two adapters as both can provide minimum current of 1.5A!

Is it OK to use A higher amp power supply?

A power supply with more Amps than required will not harm your router. It will only draw what it needs. If your router needs 2 Amps and your power supply provides 5 Amps, no problem. A power supply with more voltage than you need will however smoke your device.

Can you use higher voltage power adapter?

Higher current (A) is okay because the device won’t use as much, but higher voltage (V) is going to “fry” it. Conversely, lower voltage is unlikely to cause damage since the device simply won’t have enough power, but lower current can cause trouble because the power supply cannot provide enough.

Can I use 19V charger for 12V?

Any device that was designed to run at 12V is likely to be fried by 19V. It might catch fire, even though it’s not very likely. You must have an equal or higher current rating in order to use an AC adapter.

Can I use a 12v 1.5 A power adapter on 12v 2A device?

Yes, there will be no problem. As long as the voltage of 12 Volts is same, it will work perfectly fine on a 12 Volt 1 Amp power supply as it would on a 12 Volt 0.17 Amp power supply.

Can I use 500ma instead of 100mA?

For example, putting a 500mA pedal on a 100mA power tap would cause it to act erratically and probably shut down — it might even damage the pedal. Conversely, sending more milliamps than needed to a pedal is fine. Putting a pedal that draws 20mA on that same 100mA tap is no problem.

Can I use 12V 2a for 12V 3A device?

Yes. The 3A is the maximum current it can supply but it works fine delivering less current. For example, when this adapter is plugged but not connected to your device the current is zero but the voltage is 12V.

What voltage should I choose for my power adapter?

It is important to use the correct volts when choosing the adapter as a device can only run on the rated voltage. The most common are 18V, 12V, 9V, 6V, 5V and 3V.

What is the size of a 5mm low voltage adapter?

Typical low voltage adapter sizes. A 5 mm OD x 2 mm ID says the outer diameter is 5mm and the inner is 2mm. If you go into a shop you can compare and test the connector size, or if you are technically minded you can measure the size of the port and pin yourself.

How much current does a laptop adapter draw?

Any device will only draw as much current as it needs, so long as its power source can supply it. However, the laptop adapter’s voltage is a full volt above the specified 18 V; this will cause more current to flow into your device, since the voltage has been increased.

What is the amperage rating of a power supply?

The amperage rating of a charger or power supply is the maximum it can supply. A device being charged will only take as much amperage as it requires. If your device needs 0.5 amps to charge, and your charger is rated at 1.0 amps, only 0.5 amps will be used.
