Did Sam use the One Ring?

Did Sam use the One Ring?

By the end of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, there were seven people who had ever carried the one ring: Frodo, Bilbo, Sam, Gollum, Deagol, Sauron, and Isildur (well, eight if you count Tom Bombadil).

Does Sam throw the ring in the fire?

No matter how much his devoted friend Sam insists, at the end it is the ring he listens to, not Sam, which shows he has clearly gone to the wrong side, even if temporarily. The ring falls into the fires of Doom by accident as Frodo and Gollum fight over it. It is NOT thrown into the fires by intention.

Why can’t Sam wear the ring?

He felt that he had from now on only two choices: to forbear the Ring, though it would torment him; or to claim it, and challenge the Power that sat in its dark hold beyond the valley of shadows. Already the Ring tempted him, gnawing at his will and reason.

Why didn’t the Eagles drop the ring into Mount Doom?

The Eagles of the Valar are huge, and that’s an understatement. Not only would their flight above Mount Doom cause a stir in Sauron’s forces, but there is no physical way for Gwaihir to drop the One Ring precisely into the Cracks of Doom.

What if Sam carried the Ring?

After Sam took the Ring from Frodo when he thought he had died, Sam intended to complete the mission by himself. If Sam had carried the Ring, then based on what happens in the books, he would have been able to resist the temptation the Ring offered and throw the Ring into the fires with little to no hesitation.

Why was Sam a ring bearer?

His suspicions were proven right when Gollum betrayed them to the giant spider Shelob. When Shelob stung Frodo, Sam drove her off. When a band of orcs approached, Sam was forced to leave the apparently dead Frodo and take the Ring himself, and briefly became the Ring-bearer.

How did Sam get the Ring from Frodo?

In the book, after Shelob stung Frodo, he was unconscious from Shelob’s paralyzing poison, and appeared dead to Sam. So Sam simply believed that Frodo was dead, and that Sam had to continue the quest alone. So he took the Ring, intending to carry it to Mt. Doom.
