Im 99.99\% certain that the chips in the cable can be left out if you use thicker cables. The purpose of the chips is to allow the use of thinner and thus lighter cables. I bought a CV1 off eBay, but it didn’t come with a cable. So I’m trying to find one cheap, even a broken one.
