This isn’t necessarily a conscious act, and it’s hard to understand whether narcissists really mean to cause the harm they do or not.

2. Don’t argue about ‘right’ and ‘wrong’
3. Instead, try to empathise with their feelings.
4. Use ‘we’ language.
5. Don’t expect an apology.

Also, when they get together and talk down about everyone else, what they really are doing is agreeing that they are both better than everyone else. They “feed” each other.

Believe you deserve better – so you stop apologizing to them. Stop apologizing so much to your narcissist. Apologizing will only backfire on you!

Accept you cannot change them – so you’re less surprised and less frustrated. I am not telling you to accept a narcissist’s terrible treatment.
