Why did Orochimaru change his mind?

From what i remember, orochimaru’s change in attitude was all due to sasuke since he was amazed to see how far sasuke can go to find out the truth behind konohagakure and itachi. This changed his perspective towards sasuke which in turn led to him fighting together with sasuke.

Why did Orochimaru help leaf?
