Before plumbing was a common thing, people urinated in public. Women wore skirts so that they could just squat and urinate.

I prefer skirts because they are feminine and comfortable. But always find myself instead in trousers. However, I HATE jeans and refuse to wear them. They’re grungy, uncomfortable, unattractive, typical and utterly boring. Trousers for me have to be a soft material and not be boring black office trousers.

Historically women wore dresses, men wore skirts. It should still be the same and, if it wasn’t for horses, it probably would be. I do prefer to see women & girls wearing dresses & skirts instead of other options.

While there are plenty of situations where pants are more appropriate, from hiking, to combat, to industrial work, to she just feels like wearing pants, there’s something about the swishiness of dresses and skirts that I think is very flattering to women. Very generally speaking I think skirts or dresses are more flattering on women.
