Apparently Okinawans also look slightly different. Besides having “more yellow” skin than the typical Japanese shade, their facial features are also “strong”. I put these terms in quotes because those were words used by the Okinawans I know. Being down south, Okinawa is much, much warmer than the rest of Japan.
